Dr. Teresa Poon 潘迪敏 醫生
Dr. Teresa Poon received both her Bachelor of Honours Science and Doctor of Optometry degree from University of Waterloo where she graduated with Dean's Honours. She was also the recipient of For Your Eyes (FYi) Doctors Scholarship for academic and clinical excellence in 2012.
During her studies, Dr. Poon was involved in a voluntary eye care mission trip to Honduras with Icare International where she and a team of optometrists provided eye exams and donated eyeglasses to over 2000 patients who were less fortunate.
In addition to private practice, she also works with a national refractive surgery company in which she sees numerous pre-operative and post-operative patients. Once a week, Dr. Poon also visits Yee Hong Geriatric Care Center and perform comprehensive eye examinations for their residents on site. In 2015, Dr. Poon also had the honour to have her case report on optic neuropathy published in the Canadian Journal of Optometry.
Dr. Poon has a special interest in ocular diseases, contact lenses, myopia control and pediatric eye care. Dr. Poon is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
Dr. Jingtao Qu 曲靜濤 醫生
Dr. Jingtao Qu is a skilled optometrist with more than 15 years of experience in comprehensive eye care, including refractive and contact lenses services, evaluation and treatment of ocular pathology and pre-op and post-op surgical co-management. She was previously an ophthalmologist from Shenyang, China and continued her education and became licensed as an optometrist in Ontario since 2015. In addition to private practice, Dr. Qu also works with a surgical eye centre in Greater Toronto Area. Dr. Qu is fluent in English and Mandarin.
Dr. Daphne Lau 劉鋅賢 醫生
Dr. Daphne Lau began wearing glasses at the age of 8 and has been fascinated with vision care ever since. In 2013, she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from McMaster University. She then completed her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo with recognition on the Dean’s Honors List. In 2015, she was president of the school’s VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services for Humanities) student chapter, where she organized fundraisers and various optometric mission trips. She has also participated in volunteer missions to Ghana and Peru, where she helped deliver eye care to underserviced communities.
Dr. Lau’s optometric training includes an Ocular Disease and Therapeutics externship in Scarborough, where she worked alongside a retinal specialist. She also completed Primary Care externships at various clinics across Canada. During this time, she trained at a clinic that offers vision therapy and rehabilitation. She also currently works at a national laser vision correction center providing post-op care for patients who have had refractive surgery, a procedure that she has undergone herself.
Dr. Lau can communicate in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, and enjoys working with patients of all ages. In her spare time, she likes to travel and stay active by jogging and doing yoga.
